Lakequeen is a former boathouse redeveloped into a private villa on the lake, conveniently positioned directly adjacent to the legendary Villa d’Este hotel. The location is very accessible and offers spacious private parking at the entrance of the garden.

What makes the experience of staying in this villa so different from previous stays in any of the surrounding luxury hotels (which are amongst the best in the world) is the complete sense of privacy without any other people around. Breakfast was delivered every morning by a private chef, who is also available for lunch or dinner if needed. While there are several very good restaurants around (e.g. next door at Villa d’Este or even better at Il Sereno across the lake), the feeling of just staying in and enjoying a meal at home, knowing you are enjoying unparalleled views of the lake truly feels like luxury.

The entire house, garden and all outdoor surroundings are completely renovated to the highest standards, using only top notch materials, design furniture and clever bespoke fit-out. Sheets, bathrobes, curtains, everything was of a luxurious level only (sometimes) found in the most expensive hotels, subtle and selected in complete harmony with the environment.

Also, as we were one of the first guests, most glassware (hand-made), cutlery, and equipment such as the washing machine were brand new and never used before.

From observing all details, you clearly see the passionate approach of the owner (a professional designer and artist) in redeveloping this property, leaving absolutely nothing to chance, while creating a coherent space both indoors and outdoor.

The villa benefits from an efficient lay-out, with the bedroom and bathroom directly above the water, offering a stunning view only comparable to watching the lake from a boat.

Three different private outdoor terraces, starting with a boat dock with lounge beds, a convenient terrace with dinner table next to the kitchen as well as a spacious roof terrace all with stellar views of the lake.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and assisted with our luggage, the owner herself together with her husband also made great efforts to take good care of us.

Highly recommended if you want to experience private life at Lake Como and a unique alternative providing a different perspective to those visitors who already have seen what all the 5 star hotels offer!

The Lake Queen is one of the most memorable places we’ve ever stayed. Having been the first guests at this wonderful place, we hope to come back for more! Knowing the Lake Como region quite well, it was immediately clear to us that the Lake Queen is truly unique. It’s a place at which you can enjoy all elements of Lake Como to it’s fullest. The view, the sound of the waves when waking up, the beautiful designed interior, the possibility to jump of your own platform into the lake.. Mamma mia, this place is ‘perfetto’ 👌🇮🇹

For those looking for something unique, this beats the 5-star hotels around the lake by miles!
