My concern is the efficiency of their referral system for HMO insurance. I called in April about updating my dermatologist referral which i need to see every 4 weeks. The staff at TX Premier said it was taken care of. I went to my dermatologist appointment in May, they said I needed an updated referral and had to reschedule. I called TX Premier again and they told me the same thing, it has been updated. After still being denied from my dermatologist (the referral ended May 22)… I made an appointment in June to physically have Dr. Amy start a new referral…. Almost a month of back and forth between the two offices - i learn my referral was never sent to my dermatologist, they have duplicates and they are “unsure” of why it didn’t go through.

Overall, I absolutely understand mistakes can happen, but I think the piece that is missing here is clear communication and follow up. The amount of times I have called and left voicemails is countless. It’s obvious no one took the time to look at the details in my referral to see it was never submitted. In the future, I hope this will be avoided by reviewing the details, being transparent and following up after voicemails are left.
